Vivo is a recreation centre and community hub that serves a broad demographic in age and culture. It is also a non-profit focused on impacting those beyond the facility’s walls, with innovative research and education backing up ambitious goals.
We completely revamped Vivo’s website to provide a more user-friendly and engaging online experience.
Reworking the navigation and site structure, we organized large amounts of information in a way that made it much easier for users with different needs (such as fitness centre users, community groups, funders, or researchers) to find what they were looking for without wading through unwanted content.
The site meets WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards. We also ensured the website was responsive and included advanced search capability. Part of the problem with Vivo’s previous website was the complicated aspect of updating it, so we trained staff to do this and continue to provide ongoing support as needed.
We’d been working with Vivo to update its visual identity based on a new brand strategy, and this website was an opportunity to bring it to life in a new way. The design became more dynamic, fun, and focused on people and the community than the past website had been.
