It is likely you’ve not even heard of Cybera, despite the fact that it’s responsible for managing the advanced system of networks and computers that connect Alberta’s institutions to each other and the world. The work this agency does supports Alberta’s education system and a broader and more diverse economy.
And now, Cybera has extended its reach to include a new audience of entrepreneurs and start-ups.
So when we set out to design both the Strategic and Annual Reports, we wanted to make sure we helped readers understand the reach Cybera has into all of these areas. The continuous, intersecting “ribbons” (inspired by Cybera’s new logo) reflect the agency’s vast physical network and are metaphorical for “extending the power of bandwidth”, the theme of the Annual Report. Further to this, the idea to have the books work as a set was voiced, in order to say “Here’s where we are going” and “here’s the proof we’re making progress.”
Both books are sized at 8 x 8” and perfect bound. They work together when presented as a package via shared graphic elements that join together when the books are viewed side by side.
