Evidence for Democracy is a national non-partisan organization that advocates for the transparent use of evidence in public policy and governmental decision making. At a time when the “muzzling” of scientists and data is prevalent, E4D engages in education, outreach and advocacy – helping to improve public policy through an increased generation, collection, rigorous evaluation, and open dissemination of science and evidence-based knowledge.
The brand we developed for them utilizes a very clean and minimalist approach. We wanted to connect the E to the D, implying that there’s a fundamental connection between the two, and that Evidence and Democracy are inseparable. Through layering and colour, the logo also communicates a sense of transparency – the blended blue and green served as inspiration for the near-transparent glass texture used later in social media applications and for what is “revealed” behind the symbolic page corner being folded back on the banner and business card.
