Law and sustainable development

When McGill University’s International Journal of Sustainable Development Law (MJSDL) approached us for this branding project, they asked for a new a new look that spoke to the two cores of its identity: law and sustainable development. They wanted something that expressed a clean elegance, natural harmony and the dignity of human progress and law.

The resulting logo is organic yet geometric; asymmetric yet balanced via a combination of overlapping elements to represent the many facets of sustainable development law. The shapes and colours reference natural elements like a leaf, water drop, sky and earth.

Here’s a look at the journal cover design, which brings all elements of the new brand together.
