Local playwrights Mark Hopkins and Charles Netto tell a lovely story about two strangers meeting in the night at the first ever, Super 8 motel (now hotel).
Playing at the Edmonton Fringe Festival, the duo— also the co-founders of Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre company – needed a poster to promote the production. Our challenge was to tell the story using the hotel chain’s typefaces and colours without giving the impression that this was an endorsement, or advertisement for Super 8.
We created this poster – and thanks to the playwrites’ ability to really get in to the hotel idea, a die-cut door knocker version.
