Living a Creative Life is Calgary’s arts development strategy. Its vision is to empower every resident to live a creative life, fuelling a vital, prosperous and connected city.

The photographic concept for this publication was to show the reader that art is not exclusive to the studio and that it can be part of everyday life. We worked with Calgary Arts Development and Jason Stang (photographer) to come up with locations around Calgary that artists could be unexpectedly found practising their art. Or, in the case of the cover image made of sugar, a place you might unexpectedly find the art itself.

The patchwork logo—representing artistic focus areas that come together to make up the creative soul of Calgary—is as vibrant as the arts themselves.
